Watching the weather for the past few days I picked today to go out with a -35 morning temp and no wind I figured the calling would be good. Well it was amazing, my best day out ever. I shot 9 dogs, eight are in the pic and one was taken at last light.
I used hand calls only as my new Foxpro spitfire is going back for an FX3. The rifle used was a Tikka T3 Varmint .204 w/ 39 gr. Blitzkings. Most shots were 200 yards + and all coyotes were dead on the spot.
So far in 2 of my outing Ive bagged 13 dogs and get $20 per dog..pays the gas, a meal and some reloads :D

There looks to be some pretty big holes in those yotes for a .204.... kinda worried about what mine will look like when they get hit with a .55 grainer out of a .22-250...

so tell us a bit about it, get any doubles, 2 in the field at the same time.
closest , and that long poke, distances...
Congrats , on a great day in the field:cool:

I got one double, never have been able to get the triple. I hunted a river valley all day, basically called to the bottoms with my "Critter Call" and sniped them as they came up to me. I had coyotes come to every stand but one for the whole day but some were weary as deer season just closed and hung out at the 500 yard range. All but one of my kills were in a prone position with the Harris bi-pod, shooting off sticks I doubt I would fare as well.
My farthest kill was approx 350 and closest was about 150. We're so open here in Sask that you can see them from miles coming in and I usually hit them at the 100-300 yard mark before they start to circle and try and wind me.

Can you comment further on this, What was the problem with the Spitfire? I was considering getting one of these.

The remote was bunk but Foxpro quickly emailed me back and said they would send me new updated Spitfire or I could upgrade. I chose to upgrade to the FX3.
If you do plan on getting the spitfire make sure when you start your remote up that it says V3, not V1

So far I have only called in a shot only one, need to get out more. Looks like you had a good time, even at -35c What kind of gloves do you have lol??? I can never keep my hands warm enough.

My hands feel like 100 000 pins are stuck in them...Im yet to find gloves too but I can suffer through it. All I need is my trigger finger ;) the rest can freeze and fall off :D

Good job. Keep at it. There are too many of those dam things around.

I thank you, the ranchers thank you and the deer herds thank you.

PETA however does not thank you;)
