Sask HAL program..WTF

Got my bear tags and here is another kick in the balls. The tags have no string and no sticky back to fasten them to the animal. I asked why they would do this and their reply at the SERM office is that it is your responsibility to bring a stapler or string. Like seriously...does it cost that much to apply adhesive to the back of a tag...FAIL I think the Sask Party is just plain disrespectful pulling this crap on hunters. They cut and cut anything to do with hunting. Not like we have better options but come on !!!!!

Toss a few tywraps in your pack.

Went to my local vendor to get my bear tag today and he was pissed at the new system. He was working his tail off and budding through ink cartridges on his printer printing off habitats. Allot of work for nothing for these venders for no profit.

I think serm hit a home run and I can see license venders saying "no way" come fall when every one is looking for a deer/elk/moose tag. Especially when it cost them money to sell licenses.

At least it's better english than Singapore. If Nebraska can do it for half the cost of a Canadian company, isn't that the best use of your tax dollars?

No. That wage paid out to an american living in the USA is going to STAY in the USA. At least if it was paid to a Canadian it would likely be spent on goods or services belonging to other Canadians. This is the worst form of outsourcing.

So not only are we outsourcing the whole system to an American firm, many local business are being hurt because they have to buy a new computer system and printer or pass on selling tags and loose customers.

This out sourcing to American firms seems to be a provincial trend, Ontario last year starting using a firm in Tenesse for issuing our game seals. Huge public out cry that the work should stay in province. The reply was the Tenesse firm was the lowest bidder. Don't know who's doing it this year in Ontario. The work should remain in each respective province in my opinion.

Welcome to reality fellas. With big business moving it's fully tooled equipment for manufacturing to Asian shores, and outfits such as Honeywell & Samsung going full bore in Mexico, this is actually a surprize to anyone?
This is certainly not happy news, but it is old news IMO.

It says that you need to provide an e-mail address for the HAL and you cannot use someone else's e-mail. So does that mean I am going to have to get a different e-mail for each one of my 3 kids to put them in the draw?

Man........no offence but you are living in 1972'ish friend.
Even I have heard of "hotmail" accounts. Heck, both of my children have at least two separate email addresses, that I know of that is.

What the hell is the point of that.

I think the point is to piss off everyone enough that they will quit hunting. As of this morning the site still wont let me log on.I guess I am still living in the seventies as well because I expect service when I make a purchase, not the horse sh---t we are getting out of the current program.

Well I had to make a call today about the HAL as well, and I got a woman with a Southern U.S. accent who was completely useless... she had no idea what was going on. Pretty pathetic that they're farming the work to the south. Anyways, I managed to get in for the moose draw so if all of the rest of you would kindly not put in for moose so that I can get my tags I would greatly appreciate it. ;)

What zone did you apply for. If it is 45 I live an hour away and there are lots of moose on my land.

If it had to stay in Canada, the call center would be built in Brocket, Alberta, and the service would be something else.

Did you have to print anything out or what happens with this? I am so lost on what this hal b.s is

The draw is the same as other years, but you need the HAL #. You can get one on the Sask Environment site. The only difference is that your tags aren't mailed to you anymore. You have to pick them up if you get drawn.

^Now that is something worth complaining about. I guess the province is too busy counting thier hoarded gold from SGI to care one iota about resident hunters.
