Because I don’t want him driving on my winter wheat fields. I don’t have time to move no hunting signs around 32 quarters of land year to year. I want to be able to tell Joe which quarters he can hunt when he calls me. If joe doesn’t like asking for permission he can buy his own land.
That’s a very small number of landowners. It’s completely baffling that the concept of placing the onus on the trespasser is foreign to some people.

You can also go knock on a door. The locals are going to know who is farming that piece of land and you can then seek permission from the farmer that rents it. If the corporate landowner doesn’t want hunters on it, the farmer will let you know, but 90% of the time it’s left up to the farmer to decide who can access it.
Posting all of your land accomplished the same thing.
Nobody wants to hunt in your home.

Posting my land is an expensive waste of resources when we can simply put the onus on the tresspssser to seek out permission.

I've said this before but I'm still blown away by the entitlement of people that think they should have the right to enter someone's private property without asking.
Buy an RM map for 15 bucks and start asking. Its not hard. If you don't like it, buy your own land or hunt the millions of acres of public.

You are wrong there, when 4 guys come in the front yard and start pull out guns because there are a few deer in the pasture with the horses behind the barn.

Funny how the guy who allegedly farms 32 quarters doesn't have the time or money to post the land, has the time to post here everyday.
They actually removed the regulation requiring us landowners from having to post our land. Quite the opposite of the twisted logic you espouse. Less regulation is what I want, how about you?
Hey, let’s go back to having your socialist government legislate landowners to post their property. I’m all for it under 2 conditions.
1- the taxpayer supplies me with signs and posts.
2- I get to invoice the taxpayer for my services. I charge $100/hour plus $1.00/km for mileage. The cost can be recouped by increasing hunting licence fees. Yay!!!!!
Yes I do farm 32 quarters, although this year with all of the runoff filling up the sloughs it’ll likely be closer to 31. We’ve still got over a foot of snow to melt before we can get into the field, so I’ve got lots of time to come here and shoot holes in your clown world logic.

How about giving me written permission to access your land to hunt for shed antlers this year? Would that qualify? We are in the same area and I'd love to come for a visit and meet you!
No, they did nothing of the sort. By welcoming hunters onto your land you’re implying permission has been granted. They simply brought private land access on par with all other facets of property ownership.
I can’t use your truck without permission.
I can’t access your house without permission.
I can’t use your phone without permission.
I can’t access your bank account without permission.
I can’t borrow your firearms without permission.
Why should land be any different?
Why should Saskatchewan be the only jurisdiction in North America to grant assumed access to private property?
