yeah hurrah got my draw tag for anterless moose in my hunting area.

rifle zeroed
quad fueled up
bought a 1200lb game hoist for truck hitch.
got permission from landowner
booked my time off from work.
just watching the clock tick for 7am this saturday morning

getting pretty damn excited and already had a few sleepless nights.

soooooooo i jump online to check what is classed as an anterless moose as i just want a nice young calf.

WTF Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
damn bull moose is 1st oct til 14th
then its cow/anterless moose 15th oct.

i am two weeks early LOL (well it wouldnt of been funny if i did go out and drop a moose and then get stopped)

i was so lucky i checked the regs again otherwise i was going out first light this weekend

read those regs
THEN read them again

Hehehe atleast you weren't actually hunting when you found out the season start dates lol! I drew an antlerless Moose tag in the SMZ.

there is another hunting party heading down,with a either ### tag,who dont know the area.
so i am going to be tagging along with them,beat some bush and hopefully help them get tagged out by saturday evening.

We got drawn for either ### Moose as well this year.

I've spotted a couple 50" class bulls in the area. Just this morning I saw 9 moose on my morning pre-work scouting drive. 1 largish bull, 1 30" class bull, 1 small bull (yearling), 4 cows and 2 calfs..... All before 7am. The rut is in full swing in Southern SK!

I have high hopes for this years moose hunt! 46hrs till season opener!

I know the feeling. Our moose camp group leaves this Saturday morning for a week. Been like a kid waiting for XMAS day to arrive. My clothes and all supplies have been ready to go for like 10 days already. Made beef Barley and Chicken noodle soup and froze it.

I have one of the tags in our camp this year !!

Temps are dropping to below 0 and hard frosts the last 2 days ...it should be good !!

Didn't get drawn for Moose this year but I drew either ### mulie and antlerless mulie so 3 mulie tags for this season.
