Just got back from my bird hunt with my female German Shorthair pup Ive been working with and was it ever a good time. I managed 2 bag my 3 bird limit of roosters and my buddy took the other 2. Shot 3 sharpies and one Hun.
This was my first time ever hunting with a dog and Im blown away by how well a pointer can find, point and retrieve game birds. Ive always had boxers and now see how dumb they were.
Of all the hunts I do I have to say pheasant is #1 in my books

GOod shootin!!! I would agree - Pheasant is the #1 hunt in my books. I was down in South Dakota last year in November - limited out every day!! (3 per down there). I'd never seen so many birds in my LIFE!!!

I wish I had a dog like yours!

Congrats!! You are lucky to have such a good dog, it really don't get much better than that. I hardly enjoy bird hunting since our Britney died it just isn't the same at all.

I just got back from Alberta from my first ever bird hunt. I got to hunt over a friend's english setter. They are amazing animals and I love the huns. They are just little rockets
