This is also the Annual Meeting for the club after the match on Saturday so I hope to see all the SPRA FClass members at this match.... it would be nice to have a F'r or two on the exec IMO.

I'll be there late Thursday Keith. Can't seem to get these suppliers trained. I believe Darcy Spenst is also coming but won't get there til Friday. The usual TR bunch is also coming I think.

Cheers, Glen

I'm camping at Watrous Glen starting Thursday, actually I drive there Wed. nite and dry dock it until Thursday morning, setup camp, take my parents truck on Friday & Saturday to the match. Wife and kids come out Saturday during the day to Watrous in the Jetta. Should be a hoot, see you Friday or you can swing by Watrous for a pop or whatever Thursday Glen.

Jeezus Keith, sounds like you got to many cars. I'd stop but it's probably going to be around midnight. What's the best road this year, through Lanigan or Watrous?

Cheers, Glen

Turn off #16 at #2 (just past Colonsay at the gas station) Glen and go thru Young and Watrous to 15, then 15 to Nokomis. Lanigan to Nokomis (#20) is still a mess this year.

Yes we may have too many cars, the daughter got one now too, we have the Jeep, the Jetta and the RV so there is 4 vehicles around the house in the summer Glen. I'm using my parents truck for the match since they are camping at Watrous too and the Jetta will not show up in time for Friday & Saturday's matches. See you Friday Glen... I will be in a big Ford diesel truck, it should carry my rifle and rest eh :)

well the ditch is probally the smoothest around that area lol. saskatchewan highways.

You got that right, but I think it could be across Canada thing too...Canada does freeze and thaws so the road need maintenance or they fall apart. Road crew were a thing back in the 50-60's and Sask. got probably too many roads paved back then and how we see the results of selling off the "Department of Holidays" as we called them... the Highway's Dept. and all their equipment. Now we have a mess. :bangHead:

I'm off soon as the E or SE winds slow down a hair. The RV is a HOG in a headwind.

sv7772 You should come out and shoot a yardage or two with us.
I see your In Regina. It's a short drive man, come on out...

Boy's, I don't think Sask has a monopoly on crappy roads anymore. Have you driven in Edmonton the last 2 or 3 years? When I went to Ottawa last year I could drive straight through because all the shaking from crappy No 1 wouldn't let you fall asleep.

Finally done loading. Should be outta here by 01:00 hours. Unless there's a hangup at the last Visit.

Cheers, Glen

Results

Well, it's over, damn it! I hate when the last round goes down range.

This year the Sask boys out did themselves. Lots of sunny, really hot and some tricky windy days. I've been telling people for years Nokomis is an absloute blast. Great people, lots of laughs and incredible marking. This year it must be sinking in. I believe this was a record turnout for the last number of years. The really neat thing is, the split between F Class shooters and TR was almost dead even. I'm not exactly sure but I think there were 30 shooters. Alberta had 6 there and Manitoba 4 I think. There were enough F Class O (Open) and F Class F (Farquharson) to award each catagory which is an extremely rare occurence. The only way this match could have been better is add three more days of shooting. Well done gentlemen.

Anyway, Kodiak got me by three for the Grand. Great shooting Keith and a hearty well done! I also have a list of excuses longer than the bags under my eyes. I picked up a few trinkets along the way so I didn't come home empty handed. I'm trying to get electronic results but unfortunately, Sask has not gone to the excell spread sheet just yet so maybe Keith can help us out with the rest of the Results.

The SPRA deserves a large amount of thank you for the show. It was terrific.

Cheers, Glen

Hey if you need a hand get those results into an excel spread sheet...
send me some digital pictures of the hardcopy results and I'll type them up for ya...
I can forward the file back to ya's
no probs in this regard...

on another note I noticed one of our guys in Ottawa either had a digital camera or a phone camera and took photos of the results and posted them. One of you guys must carry one so it's a thought on future shoots. You just have to hold the camera real steady and don't try to get way too close because it'll probably go outta focus or something.

Not sure John. If Keith can get them electronically, probably. I think Bill took a photo so maybe they can work with that.
Cheers, Glen

Still waiting on results or a pic of them but I emailed Glen so I have now have two scores, so far.

.......... <----- Fri------> <-------Sat ------> <------Sun ------>
Yards .... 800 0900 1000 .. 300 .. 300 .. 500 .... 600 900 1000
GlenT 75-14 75-09 74-07 50-09 50-10 50-09 .. 50-09 50-09 74-05
Keith 74-13 74-08 68-06 50-09 50-10 50-08 .. 50-10 50-09 73-09

Glen got me by 11 points Friday and was shooting great. We both shot good on Sat but he still got me by 1 V bull. I got lucky and got him by 4 points Sun which was for the Lt Gov match. (2nd 300 Sat, the 600 and the 1000 on Sun). He got me at the MacDonald Stewart 900 on a Creedmore, I shot a 5 in match 7 and he did too but in match 3.

As you can tell, it was a real close match between Glen and I that weekend. Glen is a really good shooter and wind reader IMO and he beat me by 8 points over the 3 days.

I also know the Team match on Sat at 600 yds was won by the Sask Team.
We have some really good TR shooters too and I hope to post all the results soon.

Best of luck to you Glen in BC and down "south".

Thanks Keith, you're a generous person. I still have problems trying to figure out the match situation because it seems the "Blah Blah Match" has 3 ranges and "Who Who Match" has 4 ranges over 3 days etc etc and it's different at every place I go. All I know is I had a terrific time there as always. Great People. Great Range. All the numbers tell me is that I can't shoot as good as my rifle can. Can't wait til the PPRA. I believe we'll see a few more Albertans at this years by the sound of things. Good Luck in Manitoba.

Cheers, Glen

The pic of the results did not turn out for Bill. The team scores did... I will call Chuck and ask if I can get a copy of the results. I may not have time to post 'em until after the MPRA match plus that is if I can get a copy of the results.

Update: Visited Chuck and will have the results by 6 pm Aug 1
