Hey is there snow on the ground in western Sask.?

There is some on the ground here near Rocky Mountain House, AB. And I see on the TV (football game in Calgary) that they are getting more right now.

I will be leaving to hunt deer in Sask. Sun. or Mon. and would just like to know what the weather has been like and will be like.

I reckon if there is snow that has been sticking to the ground for only a day or so, all the scraps I find will be freshly visited. Then I will be able to get a good idea where I should be doing lots of rattling and calling.

Though I don't need to wear it in the privative season I think I'll take my Saskcamo if there is much snow about.
 
Snowed like the devil here in Lloyd today and the forecast is for more this week. Daytime high this week is 0 so the snow isn't going anywhere me thinks. Good luck on your hunt whereever it is.
 
Ya started raining in the late morning here now turned to snow. I'm excited to get out in morning this is when the beasts are on the fields after weather like this. Hope everyone's hunting has been a blast and plentiful so far.

I for one am more than happy if the snow stays away. I feel for those of you with sleds but for me I hate the lousy stuff.

I'm dreaming of a brown Christmas.
 
It would suit me fine if I never saw snow in real life ever again. Well, maybe a 1/4" on Christmas eve. It would be nice if the ground froze though.
 
Wakaw to Melfort was kind of bad. A couple in the ditch. The semi was all over the road in front of me. I swear people go brain dead when it first snows...
 
Well I headed out Monday afternoon and got to Lloyd around dark and it was starting to "flurry" a little. So I stayed overnight there. Tues. there was snow on the ground and blowing around all day long. I explored and hunted around a little and saw a few deer where I had no permission to hunt. I could see some evidence of tracks under the skiff of new snow. Stayed in an Inn Tues. night and it snowed all night long.

The road I had driven out on Tues. night with a few inches of snow on it was pretty deep and drifted Wed. morning. My F150 was pushing snow with the bumper and it was flying up on the windshield so I could hardly see the road which I could hardly see without the snow on the windshield. Very little sing that deer had been moving through the night.

I looked at the quad in the back of my truck and thought, "If I do happen to kill a buck I hope I can get to it with my quad and get it out."

After wading around in snow to my knees and the snow still coming down I packed it in and made the long drive home. 20 or 30 km. south of where I'd been hunting there was far less snow around and the farther south and west I went it looked less like winter.

Are you hunting with a muzzle loader SE of Lloyd? Have you seen much for big bucks or reports there of?
