We just had a big storm blow in, but there are still snow geese around. Saw a few just north of town this afternoon. Ate a snow goose for supper last night. I don't normally bother with them much in spring because I prefer to hunt geese with decoys. They don't follow feeding patterns worth a darn in spring, something to do with being shot at for 8 months straight.... So if you are OK with pass shooting and the associated "hope" shots and cripples, there is lots of opportunity. The spring backroads are another challenge. Farmers do not appreciate rutted up access roads, and certainly do not like ruts in fields. So driving is restrictive. I don't mean so sound like a grouch, but want people to know that spring goose shooting is very different that decoying young of the year in September for a nice 20 bird limit!
