Hey guys, was able to attend Sat for the event held in Central Butte and wow was it ever a good time. This was my first time attending a trapping meet and can say Ive never met a group of people more willing to help and chat then these trappers. There was no rivalry or bravado I get at big game or gun shows...just genuine down to earth good folks!!!
Here are some pics of the event.

Here was the Sask trapper booth, lots of beautiful pelts. The fellow who was behind the table was incredibly friendly and we had an awesome chat about elk hunting..so much help for a rookie like myself. Can't remember his name but was very nice guy!!

Here was the NAFA table. Lots of great reading material for free as well some excellent color posters on proper dimensions to stretch all wild fur. The rep was able to answer all my questions I had on proper coyote prep and how they are graded. Alot of valuable info was given on how to get top dollar.

Here is a fleshing beam and stand on my want list. This beam was sold by Dam Beaver supplies..The owner, Ian was a great guy with all sorts of traps/products. His prices were very good too.

Perhaps my main reason for attending the show was to hear from Predator Quest Pro Staff Bret Maffenbeier. Lots of good info from a fellow Sask coyote hunter that kills up to 300 coyotes a year. Bret was excellent with kids as well as he gave them all a free hand call and taught them to use it. My house is now full of howls and rabbit squalls, my boy just loves it..me not so much lol

Here is a pic of 5911Ryan..youtube star doing some skunk skinning . Interesting story behind him and the famous Sask beaver derby that the hippies and left wing tried to stop and failed at. He has some good videos on youtube on skinning coyotes, power rams, beavers ect..

A fellow doing a demo on dirt hole sets...very interesting for guys looking to do summer predator control on ranches.

An otter that was trapped and shown how to skin

Overall it was one of the best events Ive been too....Im not one for crowds but this crowd was alot of fun.

Been too long since I've attended a convention. One of the best ways to get caught up on the latest techniques and equipment plus chat endlessly with fellow trappers about everything trapping. Looks like you had a great time no doubt. Thanks for sharing.
