sask whitetail rifle season day one

While i am still mad and ranting

I had to go and check my mates two cams for him as he lives away.
There is a farmers track that takes you to his spot.
Not one truck had been through the snow filled track
And no trucks have permission to either

I made way there changed the sd cards, ripped back to the farm
Checked the cards and then got more grain.

I headed back to bait. Two other trucks had been through
THE POSTED FIELD

its about time hunters safety course includes a reading and writing test
Instead of ticking boxes

O look a fresh truck track. Must mean that I can go that way too..... O look footprints. Must mean there's a reason to walk there. I Should follow them. It's a problem everywhere I go. I'm not a landowner but still get plenty mad when this stuff happens since I hear about it all afterwards when I do my thank you rounds to the farms. Getting a new person to grant permission is almost impossible now. I went out today to pull a lot of my traps and snares that are easily accessible. Under ice and coyote calling until things die down.

i very much doubt the phucken redneck truckers are on here as they cant phucken
read

to you both who think it phucken hunting out of your jacked up dodge ram 4 door truck
think again before shooting onto posted land with ME standing there listening to your
bullets fly past me

you don deserve the truck, rifle or the skin that holds your phucken stupid body together

if i ever catch up with you..........i wont be buying coffee

sask whitetail rifle season day 1

locked this
give me an infraction
i dont care as i am glad to be alive for day 2

somebody needs more coffee!

Easier way to avoid this is to not hunt whitetail this year. I have a tag but I'm not going to use it.
Numbers are very low and I think it's a crime what is happening now with the regular season.
In 2 years we will hunt sparrows only.

I am currently hunting in NE Saskatchewan , just spent 2 hrs walking looking for a buck in the area. Stopped for yums yums.

On my return walk along a mile of brush separating two fields I had a fellow in a truck duck behind the end where I couldn't see them , they waited and am quite sure hoping for me to scare one their way.

Took off before I got too close to see who they was.

Anything for a buck!

Tried calling as well , looks like the snow has them relaxing in cozy beds so far.

Tell me about it. I started hunting 4 years ago now and trying to get permission at even one place is a gong show. Just get a straight up NO before I can even finish the question.

that is because not too much game is available these days and farmers give permission to friends and outfitters only.

Me and my brother hunt some crown land on the west side of Algonquin park. I often would park my white GMC 2500 HD pick up with 8 foot box, double suicides in middle of the gravel pit in front of where we go into the woods... during hunting season. About 4 times I've been in the woods when some yahoo decides to come down and start sighting in their rifle, shooting skeet or simply wasting ammunition into the hill, or occasionally into the woods. I have heard bullets fly by me. I once met a couple other hunters who happened to be going out scouting at the same time as me in small game season and we hunted and scouted together, that means two cars in the same place. Still some young fellow decided to bring his girlfriend out and show her how to shoot. Any time we come up on another vehicle or see fresh tracks or footprints into the woods, we go elsewhere. We have also been hunting land we have permission on in the GTA and have had guys without permission set up very close to our treestands WITH US IN THEM WEARING ORANGE. Some people are just ignorant, it's unfortunate that they put their interests in front of the safety of others. Simply put, show respect for others, use common sense, follow the laws and don't hunt where someone else already is.

When you have a short rifle season you get all the yahoos crammed into two weekends. I wish the province would justify shoot straight switch to a draw system when numbers are down and have a longer season. Short rifle seasons especially near major centres are a recipe for disaster.

Going out this afternoon to find one for a new hunter. I am on private land but it still makes me twitchy to be out there. My advice is buy a bow and a muzzle loader and avoid this time of year like the plague.

Every idiot out there just gives governments one more reason to shut hunting down permanently.

So to all those out there who think hunting is tearing around and losing your mind when you see a deer. Get out of the vehicle, calm down, walk slowly, and use common sense. It is not a competition and there is opportunity for all. Shooting something is not essential in order to prove your manhood. If your old lady dumps your arse it isn't because your rifle won't shoot straight. It's your other gun you need to check.

Be safe out there.

Day 2 of rifle season..... Tracks following me into posted land I have exclusives for? Check. 4 shots 15 min before legal? Check.

This time of year brings out all the puds....

Day 2 well i was glassing a doe getting sniffed at by a nice
Little 4 pointer and out of nowhere and shiney new ford f150.

Wazzocks

I had to ask a land owner for permission today
To use his field for access to a piece
Of wildlife land,
"Sure thing " he said
" and since you asked you can hunt over the 23
Quarter sections i have to if you want"

Well lesson for today so far.... Be polite
And i am going to need more signs lol

well i am back in now

it went a bit mental around 4pm
two pigs came in as i was waiting for the deer,so a nice 100lb got the rough
end of my 308,surprisingly it didnt go down at 50 yards, but found it later.

20 mins later the deer trotted in and i dropped a really nice 4 pointer.

so for me its safety in my own home!!!

Sorry you had such a lousy experience; it sounds like that area is full of real winners!

That said, when commenting on literacy from the comfort of a glass house, you may want to keep those stones in your pocket.
