Well unfortunately in BC out of country FN are allowed to hunt here without a license.....

What a pile of crap!
Thank the Lord that now here in Sask any hunter has to get written permission to hunt private land. I highly doubt most farmers will let an out of province group of natives hunt on his land and wipe out the moose or elk on his property.
That is funny. Does anyone really think putting up a private property sign would make any difference to FN's? Good luck with so-called property rights. I see bad thinks happening in the future.
No need to put up signs. If a property owner see them on their land they can call the RCMP and have them removed and charged. What do you think is a better alternative? Allowing anyone to enter private property with no legal repercussion?
Bad things have already happened in Sask with natives driving into property they had no right to be on....that didn't go so well for the gangster Colten Bushie and his degenerate crew.
Well, that is a specific case about a specific tribe in a specific area.
What is a more serious problem is out-of-tradtional-area Indians ranging around the province hunting game.
I have an ex friend who claims Haida heritage (I'm darker than he is) and lives in Prince Rupert. Haida territory is Haida Gwaii, the islands, not the mainland. He regularly goes up-country and slays three or four moose a year claiming he's got permission from the tribe in the area. He says the elders love him because he is such a good provider. Shot a grizzly he alleged attacked him and had a full body mount made. Challenged by the CO service he claimed "Food,social, ceremonial" and got away with it.

Not only that but if they want to hunt according to their traditions, let them stick to spears, bows, and knifes and use horses to get around. If they want to use modern equipment they should be forced to abide by the Law as per the rest of Canadian hunters. So much for equality in Canada.
MB has their fair share of night hunters/road hunters/poachers. FN and hicks combined. 99.9% are to lazy to venture past the next town, let alone province. i would even guess property owners kill as many out of season deer or the kill goes un-tagged as the FN do.
well...… if you want to go down that road, then ALL hunters should be using sticks and stones. What makes non native hunters so special that they get to use the tools of modern man.
Your argument simply has zero logic if your underlying train of thought is that we should all be "equal".

Hey will everyone just step back then ask yourself this question first before you start to judge our "First Nation" people? If you look at what I just put into quotes you will notice that they were here in North America FIRST (thus First Nations) before we as non natives forced them to into submission. Placing them on the worst lands in the nation and expecting them to survive. Which is hard to do as they were hunters gatherers and lived off what nature gave them and they believed in keeping everything in balance. Do some research on residential schools you'll be utterly shocked at what white men did to brake the FN spirits to comply with and restrictions put on who was allowed to leave the reserve and how long they were to be gone and the results of not returning on time. Once you have done your full research, rethink what your ideas of our FN people then you will need to apologize to them as well.
As far as I am concerned we need to apologize to each and every one of them for the way they have been mistreated since 1878 as sub humans. You certainly won't live that way then why should they!
Note: if you do any in depth research you will also find that with the government restriction in place, if they live off the reasurves they lose their status cards and are not allowed to participate in and government funding, grants or settlements dispersed.

University of Windsor.

But if they do, then what? IMO, most police would not even consider doing the paperwork, since the judge would dismiss any charges.
The difference is regular people need to buy a licence and can only shoot a limited amount of animals during a season for whatever specific tool they are using to hunt. First nations are complaining that the colonials are destroying their heritage and traditions while at the same time they think they are entitled to shoot anything they want from a 4x4 with spotlights day or night. That is not their heritage or tradition. They shouldn't even have horses because they weren't on this continent until the filthy colonials brought them here. Their rights should not allow them to travel all over the country to shoot out the animal populations as they are doing now. If they want to subsistence hunt as is their tradition fine, let them make their own bows from willow and gut, their own arrows from knapped stone and feathers. They should not be able to use modern weapons unless they are going to buy a licence just like everyone else.
what happened in 1878 has nothing to do with hunting in $40'000 trucks that are .. in your words.. government funded. backspace .. delete.. backspace.. there is lots of money that goes to improve the lives of these people affected by something the government did years ago, but all they want is more money and apologies. the chiefs get most of the money and the others get the apology
