I've hunted in Sask for several years after moving away. The first year I flew out there were guys from Ontario getting on the plane, which was already filled with New Brunswick and Quebec hunters. At the airport I met an old boss who was there to meet his father coming in from BC. Not knowing the land is a disadvantage, and for lack of a better term, that is what a guide would add to the hunt. But no Canadian NEEDS a guide to hunt in Saskatchewan. Read and respect the species rules, and you won't have problem. Getting around the grid roads, retreiving downed game and travelling to the small town where you booked rooms, is not a trip you want to attempt in an average airport rental car.
