Saskatchewan draw results are out

I got either ### elk and mulie does this year. Woot!

Edit: just realized that I should explain that I'm a member of the Canadian armed forces and with the changes to the Saskatchewan resident rules for hunting and fishing, I get to go back home regularly to hunt with my family! Great reg change!

should you need help with your mulie or elk do not hesitate to contact us. We support our troops.

I hit the jackpot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bull elk on 19/13 and Bull moose on Regina/MJ WMZ

This will be a once in a lifetime hunt.

There is a lot of open ground in those zones, and the animals are wary. Let us know how you fare. I'm more curious about your moose success.

Oh Im very familiar with the zones and what they offer Ive hunted them for almost 20 years. Here is a sample of some elk I took pics of a few years back in the zone i was drawn for.

Moose will be fun but I doubt I will see a book moose in the MJ/Regina zone. Elk is a different story. There are a number of record book bulls roaming around..,.last year a 4oo" plus bull was shot near Chaplin and broke the provincial record from what I hear.

Seeing them with a camera in hand or a coyote rifle is different then finding them with my 300 mag.

Cheers!!

I checked into this and found out that if I as a landowner make receiving a gift a condition of granting permission to hunt, it is illegal.

If the hunter offers a gift in appreciation of having permission to hunt on the land, it is perfectly legal.

Sale of hunting rights
43 Subject to this Act and the regulations, no person shall, directly or indirectly, sell, trade or barter or offer for sale, trade or barter the hunting rights for wildlife on any land.

I'd hate to be in court trying to split that hair.
Don't get me wrong, I think that hunting access on private land should be able to be sold, just like it is nearly everywhere else in the world. Then access could be discussed between gentlemen, instead of as a beggar pleading for something for nothing.

I have no issue at all giving a landowner a nice bottle of whisky or a gift card for a nice restaurant meal least a guy can do for access on property. Who's gonna rat you out on a 40 of Crown Royal ??? :)

Cheers!!

If the gift is offered after permission is granted no sale, trade or barter has taken place.

Straight from the wardens mouth.

Just to be clear, we were grateful for the opportunity to (succesfully) hunt on his land, so stopped by the farm to say thanks. Where I come from, nothing quite says "thank you" like a hand shake and a bottle of whisky.
