Saskatchewan farmland chasing one of the most challenging animals on the prairie — moose

In the SE part of the province where I was born, grew up, and still reside, seeing a moose in the 80's was a pretty big deal. Now its almost a daily occurance.
Probably very much like my experience here in the interior of BC. It was a really big deal, to have seen a deer, and we talked about it as we rode the school bus, then. Now, they are almost vermin (well, they ARE vermin, in Town).

There are now FAR more deer around than were around when I grew up here (50-ish years ago). We have had packs of wolves decide that it was good to come in to town to hunt, as well as the occasional cougar. I have counted as many as fourteen deer, crossing the road/blocking traffic, in the middle of our not very large town.

I proposed to one of the folks I know, that is a verified pacifist/animal rights proponent, that the smart thing to do would be to arm up about a half-dozen sets of guys with paintball guns and ammo, in mini-vans, to simply drive around and pelt the deer until they no longer felt that they were safe 'in town'. I was really surprised, that he agreed with me, at that time. Sadly, the Lawyers think that acts along these lines put the Town, at risk, as they believe that any accident that may be caused by the scrambling deer trying to escape, would put them at some exposure...
