Saskatchewan New RPAL Completion

77 days....sitting on the Firearms officer desk since a month ago....they did not think it was even going to be looked at for a few more weeks...wow.

June 28....finally got my RPAL approved...now in the mail for another 6 to 14 days. Over 3 months.....Took a call asking to speak to a supervisor at Sask Firearms Office....which turned out to be a Supervisor in Mirimachi....Gentlemen said they are been asked to clear the backlog of applications...thats why they were helping the provinces.

Very great guy...tried to call one of the the Sask Firearms officers holding my file...no answer....so he said he would personally contact them and get back to me. The very next 8am...received a call from a Sask Firearms officer from Northern Sask Region...asked a few more questions...then approved. Said that yes all still busy but not sure why it SAT on a particular officers desk for over 2 months to be "reviewed"...they all work differently.

Pays to dig deeper as to why the system is slow....pleased with the service that day.

Received my new card in the mail....what really peeves me off is they give the "paper" copy of what my level of class is....and tell me to keep it with my card for the officer to ask at any time...why the frick did they not just put that on the plastic card all in one...

no that would be too easy....
