Who's heading out bright and early on Wednesday? I'm hoping to have my first duck down by 5:46am :D So pumped, it was a long 9 months.

I was out scouting this morning, lots of ducks, but few on the wing, only saw a few flocks of geese and they were in a field that didn't look like it had feed. No geese in the pea field i hunt, but it hasn't been harvested yet, so I'll shoot ducks on my childhood farm.
Got a big coyote though, 325 gr. bullet from a .44 mag. Marlin, flattened him good, one leg kicked for a couple of secs....he was running around the sloughs looking for ducks too.

Not a heck of a lot of birds that I found. 1 mallard, 1 teal and some not yet identified duck. And 2 massive Canada geese. I couldn't hit #### when I started out, dog was being a retard. Finally got it together after the first 3 or 4 hours

Put the canoe in on our marsh Sunday afternoon. Some folks shooting already. Lot's of bluewings and shovelers around. Many flappers, divers...canvas, redhead and scaup not even capable of flight yet. Don't know why duck hunting over marshes open so early. Young and adult female divers so vulnerable at this time. Good luck SK guys!

I was out early this morning and the ducks were everywhere, not quite "sky was black" with them, but could have shot a ton of 'em. After a while i just sat and watched as they came in big flocks and others took off. There were geese in the fields as well, but the fields are so wet that you can't drive on them to set up decoys and layout blinds, hopefully things will dry up before the big flocks of snows show up. Hunters from the east would have to see it to believe it, many more ducks now then when I was a lad.

Bazillions of cranes passing through now. Manitoba' Interlake is crawling with them. I can remember my years in SK where they were even more plentiful. SK is God's country for the bird hunter.

What part of the province are you in Ben?
Seen lots of cranes around Aberdeen. All the ponds I was going by were full of coots and not much else. Occasional flocks of Canada geese and seen a couple of snows/specks.
