Was anybody at the event?

It was a great weekend. The wind added a lot of fun, and the rain decided to stay away. The wind here is strange. While windy, it seemed to not effect the clays a lot unlike our local range where they clays can really start to dance.

While their field is still a work in progress, I found their presentations refreshing. I felt they had a great variety that tested a lot of different skills.

Congrats on putting another fun event.

While I reminisce, I ponder which will be my next event.

Great event! I liked the format that they had, got us on the road in good time on Sunday. Machines ran great, very low breakage or issues, so no backups due to malfunctions. Couple of stations each round were very challenging, but the vast majority were run by someone in our squad, proving it was us not the targets that needs some work.

Only real change I would have made is to have more of Sundays targets as true pairs, but thats simply personal preference, not because there was anything wrong with them as was.

Excellent food, and I got to try bunker trap and international skeet for the first time after the sporting.

I wish I did a bit more of the optional shooting but honestly feel 400 targets can be a mental drain. Once done it's nice to kick up the feet and enjoy a brew. Admittedly their 5 stand impressed me and I wanted to shoot but didn't.

As for the machines, from what I've seen I'd hazard to guess MEC makes a better machine than Promatic. We only ran into issues when the machines got low. Otherwise they were close to 100%. That long range system they use also seems to work well.

I'd return again if my schedule permits to do another shoot.

I just found this thread! Glad you guys enjoyed the shoot. Being our first registered shoot, we hoped everything would go well and we were very pleased! It was great to see shooters from as far west as B.C. and Manitoba from the East. I hope the word spreads for next year and we can increase the number of shooter who are able to attend.

On a side note, we are hosting another shoot on Aug. 25, 2018. It will be a recreational shoot featuring 200 targets on one day. Main shoot in the afternoon includes steak supper and 100 targets for $80.00. There is an option to shoot 100 targets in the morning for $20.00 if you are registared for the main shoot in the afternoon. We will also be having a silent auction after the shoot and during supper.
