Saskatoon WMZ

I'm going for a hunt in Saskatoon wmz and this would be a new zone for me. I know scouting is king but any advice on what direction/area should I go first?
I hav a antlerless whitetail tag. How is the population?

Good luck getting permission. I was drawn for moose there a few years ago and lucked out on a 38" bull but permission is hard to get. Try the pike lake area. Pm me if your having a hard time.

Thanks. What's wrong with ppl in Saskatoon. There's posted land in many places in Saskatchewan but usually permission is granted if I ask. Should I expect most of the farm land to be posted ? Didn't see too much wildlife land.

If there's any Nature Conservancy Land, you can call their land manager and ask for permission. A lot of it is permission-only hunting also

Permission is always harder o get near large cities, because so many people are asking, and many people are around that don't ask.

I hunt mostly the SWMZ and 30 with great success, and as savagelh stated, it a very hard zone to get permission.

99% of land is posted and most landowners do not want new hunters and are fed up with trespassers and guys messing up their fields. I consider myself extremely lucky to have access to a property in the SWMZ, it came down to getting invited to hunt with a group who hunts the property and are related to the owner.

It's a little late in the season to do scouting but good luck, its a great zone if you have a spot to hunt, it gets a little hectic late November with a the road hunters but overall its a good zone.
