Bought a Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 awhile back for my 223. I mounted it, and basically just sighted it dead on at 100, figuring I'd wait for nicer weather to get it set up how I like it.
Anyways, the dog was barking towards a bush, so I dragged out my rifle in case there were coyotes. No such thing, so I thought I would check out the mil dot settings on different scope powers. AFAIK these scopes are supposed to be on 14X for the mil dot ranging.
Well, the space between the dots seem way too big for that to be right. Unless I'm on bad crack (highly doubtful) they're ranging correct at about 22x to make about 3.5" center of dot to center of dot at 100 yards.

I'm not sure what to think of this.....anything that might explain this? I don't know if its necessarily a bad thing. Help!!
