Sasquatch sightings?

back in 95 there was a sighting in the Okanagan near penticton. We decide to check the area out. We saw nothing. Buddy stumbled on what looked like a foot print. Still I figured it was nothing. Further up the trail we found a real foot print. About 15 inches long. you could see the toes, very wide. I figured its a joke. We reported it to the Crypto dept of UBC. A cast was taken and the professor said it was not a fresh print but never less it was a foot print. I asked if it could be a fake. He said the it was very deep and the cast showed the foot to be to real with imperfections like the curling of the toes etc, to fake in such a remote area. Really made me think. Also it was really out of the way. My toyota at the time had locking difs and a lift. we had to walk in the trail to get to where we found the print. And again It was luck that we found it.

There have been a few sightings in Northwestern Ontario, but in all my years of hunting and living in the bush I have never seen any evidence to support their existence .That being said I will keep an open mind on the subject...after all some of those plaster casts of footprints taken over the years show dermal ridges that are very different from the whorls and loops found on human feet ....besides who would go to all the trouble .

I found some footprints on a glacier here near Whistler. They were old but were still quite clear. There was a huge amount of space between each one and they came up over some rocks, across the snow and ice and vanished back into more rocks. It was pretty interesting.

Clayton Mack, a native guide for 53 years with over 300 grizzly kills, has a chapter in his book "Grizzlies and White Guys", about Sasquatch sightings in the Bella Coola area.

He claims to have seen three of them at different times and heard them several times. Very interesting and convincing stories from a fellow who lived in the bush all his life. He also talks about other peoples sightings in that area. John

Here's his stories.

And just for the heck of it, here's some more stories.

I've read a few other Clayton Mack's experiences, and he sure has some stories. He led quite a life, hunting for the enjoyment and not worrying too much about money or material things.

Those guys sayin the screams could be from cougars are right, I've heard racoons make some ungodly noises in the night. I've also heard some some noises I can't quite explain either, beside a lake up near Cambell River, I can't quite remember the lake, I'd have to check my backroad map book and thats in my jeep.

Just because Washington State did that doesnt mean they are considered anything but a myth till someone shoots one everywhere else. :D

I've said it before and I'll say it agian if I did see a Sasquatch its going to be shot, draged, carried to the local taxidermist, full mounted, and put on display in my living room :D

Now I've always wondered if the meat is edible ??

Clayton also claimed to have shot Ogopogo in Owikeno Lake :p Very intresting guy and he led an impressive life, but he may have exagerated a time or two ;)

I choose to believe that they probably exist, why wouldn't there be a large primate in north america ? Heck IIRC the gorilla was thought be a legend until some were captured in the 20th century ...

Sasquatch sightings

... What worries me the most, is that the reported sightings of "Sasquatch" bear an uncanny resemblance, to my Mother-in-Law !!! .... David K.;)
