Possibly under the grip panel. If it’s modern manufactured one will be on it somewhere.

Should be on the right side of the frame. Maybe it's just really faint? I know Armco use to polish out all the markings on Norinco 1911 pistols EXCEPT for the serial number.
Back in the 90s there was a shipment of Norinco 1911 frames that landed here with no serial numbers. At the time the CFC issued a sticker to attach to the frame. Many people that bought them had the serial engraved as the sticker would come off during the first cleaning. I'm guessing you have one of those...
