News reports I've seen say that our CSOR/JTF-2 guys were being deployed in the North to work with the Kurds, probably to help train them up on FAC and target designation skills. Whatever they're doing, let's hope they all make it home safely.

CSOR, yes. And I hope the Kurds aren't as prone to murdering their own military advisors as the Afghans are.

The Kurds are nothing like the Afghans, they're ethnically distinct from the other groups in the region. They also actually believe in democracy, rule of law and religious freedom - and are very willing to fight for their own homeland. Quite a rare bird from the Middle East's perspective. They've even allowed refugee Christians into their territory for protection.

The last of the civilized people in a sea of savagery for sure unfortunately.

The device on the 3 o'clock rail is an EOTech ATPIAL AN/PEQ-15 (IR & Visible lasers) (or similar)
The muzzle is a Knights (KAC) NT4 Sound Suppressor
A Surefire light is mounted on the 9 o'clock rail
An Aimpoint Micro T1 is mounted at a 45 degree cant to the right of the scope objective.
The buttstock is a VLTOR EMOD

Although some here believe that a civilised approach to this ISIS mess is the best way forward, I disagree. The problem with middle eastern rag tag militias is that they firmly believe they are the only ones that can resort to horrible savagery on the battlefield to shock us westerners in thinking they have big balls.

I wish the gloves would come off and they could really see what devastation a professional and highly trained army can inflict on their group. I wish we could go back to ww2 rules of engagement with bombing raids that wipe out entire divisions and a rolling armoured wave that stops at nothing but the turkish border leaving nothing but a smoking ruin of ash behind them.

They have yet to see the true horror of indiscriminate total warfare.

I agree with you

For now they see precision guided bomb.... It has nothing to do with the devastating force of an modern army. Things like cluster bomb over an area, napalm or small tactical nuclear war head are very nasty.

Unfortunately the rules of war have changed and not always for the better. 24 hr CNN, CBC coverage, collateral damage etc has become part of the vernacular now. This started in Vietnam and has continued ever since.
. Crying mothers and dead babies are bad for drumming up public support in the West. The West must always look like the good guys. We must never appear to stoop to the savagery that the enemy is capable of. They know it and use it against us with our own media! That is why we will never win. Our society just doesn't have the balls to see it through.
