Sauer 100 Extractor Problem

Good day gunners,

I just bought a brand new Sauer 100 in .300MW. I haven't shot it yet but had trouble chambering my dummy round. Upon close inspection, I noticed the extractor looked to extend too far into the bolt face opening. I have contacted the reseller, but this will take a little work to get straightened out.

Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone have an opinion on how easy this could be to fix?

Is it a real brass or a dummy dummy fake round?

Fake rounds are just junk and often out of spec and won't cycle in a perfectly good firearms.

It's an actual cartridge I made without powder. Real brass.

I also checked some new, unfired brass without any bullets and they responded the same way. It was very difficult to seat the bolt, but one the extractor slid over the rim, I could move the bolt back and forth, and seat the brass without difficulty.

just a shot out of the blue and pure guess....that bolt look like a control feed style..versus push feed....by any chance are you putting the powderless round down into the magazine/or magazine load and then into the rifle OR just dropping it in and pushing the bolt to enter the round into the chamber?

It’s a push feed and I tried both from the magazine and single feed. Same feel both ways.

The extractor is sitting too far inboard.

It looks like the ball or plunger between the spring and the extractor is missing.

Pop it out and take a look. Might be a simple fix.

Thanks for the idea. I did as you suggested and I don't see a ball, or a place for a ball, but their might be a missing tube or something like that to hold the spring in place. There is definitely some suspiciously empty looking space behind the extractor. Since there were no parts simply out of place, it seems like it's warranty time.

I'm thinking you need a spring [Goes in the hole first,] and the proper steel ball, which is
held to the underside of the extractor by the spring. Dave.
