I cant comment much on the 101. I handled one at a gun show this year in a 9.3x62 and darn near bought it. Seems to be well made. That's about as far as i can go on that. I have owned the browning xbolts (composite stalkers) when thy first came out in a 280 and a 300wm. I very much liked them. They were both accurate rifles and had a good feel to them. I found the recoil next to nothing in the 300wm. Great recoil pad on them. I sold them both to fund a cooper i purchased. The remingtons i owned were alright. One was a sendero 7mm and the other a 200 swift. I replaced the triggers on them due to the recall on them. They eventually left the safe to fund other guns.I have had savages but they left also. Cant comment on the tikka's
I have owned many AV's. They are my pick for any gun builds that i do. I used to be able to find them for under 1k, but not anymore. All shot well. Maybe a little heavy for some people, but i didn't find that. My AV 270 in the fiberclass stock scoped is 8lb 9oz which is my ballpark for shooting comfort. Whenever a fiberclass stock came up for sale, i would buy them and replace the factory wood stock. I guess the downside now is mcmillan no longer makes stocks for them. I am having a 280ai built right now off one of them. I like them

I would take the Sako right away. Great rifles.

I have played with a few Sauer rifles but never really liked their bolts. Had a few that were good shooters but just never warmed up to the style and function in the bolt.

Just preaching to the entire CGN choir.

Whatever you want/need right now gun wise, don't buy one, buy two.

My Sauer 101 in 30 06 is one of the most accurate guns I have shot with the cheapest off the shelf ammo. Since that experience I have become a total Sauer fan boy 100, 101, 202, 303...gotta collect them all :). That said I am not sure about the 404. I honestly don't feel its an improvement over the 202. The 100/101 series are amazing guns for what is otherwise their "affordable" line.
