Hey all, this is my first time posting on this page, and am excited to learn more about my firearms and firearms in general!

In 2017, I inherited a Sauer 303 Classic XT in a .300 WinMag, with a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x32 scope. My uncle gave it to me before he passed and am forever grateful. He told me that whatever I do, never let it leave the family.

For years, I couldn't really get out to go hunting or shooting as much as I'd like, but now I have a lot more time to do so and am beginning to slowly realize what I've inherited. It seems both are nearly impossible to get these days, or discontinued, so it has been hard for me to find any useful information on it other than both components have "unicorn" status. Also, finding a replacement 5-round magazine is essentially impossible.

I guess my question would be: what information would this community be able to to provide for me in regards in understanding what I have? What ammunitions should I consider? Any quirks/how should I properly care for this setup? How can I make sure it is fully appreciated for what it is?

Other than very surface level understanding of firearms, I am relatively green to the deep dive of firearm knowledge and know-how. If you've read this far, thank you for doing so, and I look forward to slowly becoming part of this community!

That is a nice rifle, and yes you're going to have to search for a replacement mag long and hard... Hopefully you have the original mag still.

you may end up having to look at europe to find one.

the action itself is something else, excellent design.

Calgary shooting Center used to carry in stock mags for that. The mags are expensive of course. You can also get a smaller flush fitting mag that I believe holds 2 or 3 rounds if you prefer a smooth bottom on the rifle.
