Over the years I got tired making sausages through a 1/2HP grinder so bit the bullet today and ordered a 5 litre Trespade vertical stuffer holds about 11 lbs of meat. Didn't want a Chinese made one. These were recommended by a butcher as well as Hobart and F.####[Germany] brands. Pay once cry once. When my grinder goes up in a puff of smoke I'll upgrade that as well.A boned moose awaits in the deep-freeze.My son and I took a 2 day sausage making course at a local agricultural college so picked up a few of the basics.Should be here in a week or so.Have the fresh ground spices and pork fat so ready to go.White sausage,Italian and hotrods are the plan.

Nice unit.. maybe 1/2 hotrods where a little small for
My taste,,, to much work, just to eat a couple every sitting

I Switched to the 3/4 sticks,,, couple years back..
Good call on the stuffer,
Your arms will be much happier.. lol

Life is much more enjoyable when you have the proper tools. In addition to a vertical stuffer I use an excel spreadsheet to calculate the required spices based on meat weight. Then weigh out the spices on a scale.

Cabela's has a big sale on their grinders /Carnivore but I think they are Chinese as well 3/4 HP,1 HP+ 1 1/2HP ? [ 71lb unit ] I'll wait till mine dies for now.

So you got a "Sausage stuffer" recommended by "F. ####?"

I can't be the only one to find that comical...?

The prices are quite high and something got lost in the German/English translation.Maybe he should have simply wrote Frederick as not to amuse the Neanderthals. The three brands mentioned were the butcher's choice if he was buying.
In Peavy Mart a couple years ago they had meat grinders from China. The brass plate on the machine stated Not for use by women /children or the feeble minded. My ex was not amused being 1/2 Chinese.

I have a made in China 11lb vertical stuffer that I got at Princess Auto (on sale right now $154, the 5lb and 15lb also on sale)
I had to take some emery cloth to sand smooth some sharp edges on the stand part but other than that it works geat!
This is a manual power turn handle so it helps to have someone give you a hand while stuffing
But yes, a dedicated stuffer is the right tool for the job.

Those F. #### stuffers look well made.

....cripes there is just no way to talk about this kind of thing without sounding dirty...or maybe I'm just immature.....:adult:

Well the sausage stuffer arrived broken today.Poor factory spotwelding of the handle on the meat tube .Was laying loose in the box! Wasted a day looking out the window waiting on Canada Post when I could have been hunting.Called the store to see what they are going to do.This ain't a Cadillac it's a Lada !

Think on this; F. #### also makes knives. You can buy the 6” #### boner or, if you’re feeling manly, wrap your hands around the 12” ####!

No joke. I’ve owned both.
I seldom truly do LOL .. this was one of those times. Just unexpected, caught me at the right time ..

after the stuffer .. get a smoker. Last weekend I finished up 4 slabs of porkbelly into regular bacon and pancetta (rolled Italian spiced bacon). Elk and deer sausages are delicious smoked.

Gee, good thing it wasn't Chinese, eh?

.My Chinese Princess Auto stuffer has been a champ. I did make my own stuffing tube that fits the smaller casings for meat sticks, though.

I really don't know what the driver for the very high prices charged for a lot of the tools for the Butcher trade is, besides, perhaps,, that they felt they could get away with raping their customers.

Mario was asleep at the spot welder. It is still fully functional and a new meat canister with a properly welded handle is en route by Purolator.Wednesday ETA.I'm doing 40 lbs of moose/pork mix[ white sausage] first thing in the am.Raping the public is kinda like registering your car/truck every year when the ownership hasn't changed hands.Theft is a kind word.We have a large electric Bradley smoker we are already using. That will be used for the pepperoni sticks later in the week.

I also bought a Princess auto on sale (11lb) for $99 two years ago and it has worked well once you get the chinesium grease smell out. It has metal gears and has done a few hundred pounds of sausage. I measured the seal and it is the same as one of the name brands ( I can't remember which ) so it can be repalced when worn.

Have a cabelas 11 lb and works good only thing I don’t like they leave a couple lbs in the stuffer when the lid/pusher is all the way down. Currently using a small inflatable basketball in a plastic bag to get the last couple lbs pushed through
