Rifles use goofy threads on their scope base bolts.
If the bolts are bigger then the hole in the receiver, you have 8-40 bolts and the action is tapped for the 6-48. If the reverse,....well you understand.
If the holes in the receiver are smaller, just take some scope base bolts from any other domestic rifle and try them. I bet they fit. Now you just need to get the right length to fit this rail.
If the holes in the receiver are bigger, I can help with some 8-40 bolts.
Was the rail not on the rifle when you got it? Or in the box for your to install?
Simple solution and you are not going mad.
There is a movement for 'tactical' rifles to have larger base bolts BUT that is not what is standard fare. So if the wrong action is bolted to your rig, voila....you know all about it.
Good luck...
