Savage 10 ba owners help needed!!

Sorry didn't look at that. Head down to wholesale or shooters edge. They should be able to get you going. Might have to spend 10 bucks or so. Better than going back to S.I.R. Or bring it over we could figure something out, I have a welder.

6-48 for the BA 308 by Savage mine goes together Saturday. My guess you got the screws for the 338 LAPULA BA.

But I'm thinking of putting Night Force rail on it. The Savage one has enough RAIL SPACE to make it look like a CHRISTMAS TREE.

you suggesting welding it on lol? That would be quite a set up lmao. Yea Im gonna drop by WS tomorrow after work and see if they have anything that would work, beats shipping the rifle back. If not, Brownells looks like they carry two types I would just buy them both for the $12 but I hate the thought of having to wait two and a half weeks for them to get here.

Why the rail isn't already mounted I have no idea. Is that Savage's way of cheaping out. If they are expecting the customer to do it themselves, then they should ensure the correct mounting screws are included. Pretty poor qc although not a big issue imo, an issue none the less. When I got my AI AE MKII,which comes with a base, the base was already mounted. All I had to do was mount the scope and shoot. It is more accurate and reliable than the custom rifles I own as well. Sorry to go off topic a bit but just making a comparison and that Savage is not cheap by most people's standards and this stuff should not happen.

its pretty much a free floating rail, and if mounted could bend or break in shipping IMO. They just changed screw sizes last year for the 110ba so this rifle was probably sittin in the warehouse for a year or so..

If it may bend or break during shipping what chance has it got to function in the field? Sell it to some Tacticool Mall Ninja and put a quality 20MOA base on it, mount your optics, and never look back IMO.;)

i couldn't agree more. If it can't hold up to shipping, I would assume packaged properly, it definitely ain't going to hold up in the field. I guess it also depends what you doing with the rifle, if it's just going to be a range queen I wouldn't worry about it.

the holes in the receiver are smaller. I think they sent me the 110ba bolts which are 8-40 for my 10ba which is 6-48x.5". Its the 6-48 that I need. Rail came separately for packaging reasons probably. Apparently there are 6-48 with different threads? This whole thing is pretty frustrating and I am pretty sure Cabelas receptionist lady that said she will call me back monday will have no clue what I am talking about..Hope I can find some somewhere..

And I thought all the BA rifles used the larger bolts to keep from shearing when hanging that big rail and accessories off it???

Any gunsmith will have the #6 bolts. you can also rob them from any weaver base package as long as the bolts are long enough.

The #6 scope base bolt is universal.
