savage 10 fcm scout

Hey everyone, I'm looking into getting a bolt action rifle, my first bolt gun.

Question is, because I have no interest in hunting right now, and enjoy target shooting, is the 10fcm chambered in 7.62x39 a good choice for 100-200 plinking? Or shoud I be looking for something else. I don't want to be lobing bullets out there.

Thoughts?

Reason for desired round is because of price of surplus ammo to practice.

yes the 7.62x39 is good out to 300 yards. it has around 6-8 inch of drop at 200 yards. your golden. but it isnt no 308. but for price you cant beat it.

If you get one, post pix of it on here. There's not a lot of info out there about them. I'd like to know more.

Could be a cool little rig in x39. I say go for it. When and if you decide to hunt you'll be surprised how effective the little russkie can be!
