I shopped around for a rifle for about a month - read every review I could find on ~$1000 rifles. Ended up buying a 700 CDL stainless fluted 300WSM for big game - a damn fine looking gun by the way! - and a Savage 10 FCP-K .308 to get started in long range target shooting.
Went to the range today to try her out and boy was I impressed. I have never purchased a high end $1500-$4000 ish rifle before so I can't compare to these higher end guns, but compared to lower to lower-mid end models in Browning, Weatherby, Sako etc this trigger is by far the best I've ever pulled. Can't say enough about it. This gun really surprises me at the $850 price point. Anyways 60 rounds isn't much of track record but so far it shoots very nicely. I can't wait to work up some different reloads in Lapua brass / SMK's.
The Bushnell Elite Tactical 5-15X40 is excellent too. I can't think of a better scope for $350 -picked it up on sale.
If you are pondering the idea of buying one of these Savages, I wouldn't hesitate. If you have any experience with the gun or questions you are invited to post here about it!
