Savage 10 PC .223 Feeding issues

Gun has issues with picking up rounds from the mag, seems that the rounds are sitting too low in mag for bolt to catch ???? mag is seated all properly, anyone know how to pull mag apart to attempt to stretch the spring ?? or ????

Try reseating your mag, it may help. I've had the same problem once or twice. Put the back in first and then move the front up and lock it in.

Thx KDX, mag is seated properly, there does seem to be a little play on release end, not sure if the magwell can be adjusted

Did you by any chance bed it and end up with the action sitting slightly higher than it did before?

Make sure all your rounds are at the very back of the mag and pull the bolt all the way back to grab another one. I have the same issue in my 308, and 30-06 savages, this works for me.

I had the same once with a 10FCPK. Over the years I have always had a habit of hitting the mags on my hand or other object to settle the rounds in the mag and ensures non are in a bind.

As mentioned this causes the rounds to settle all the way to the back and then install back end of mag first as also mentioned previously.

Never an issue after doing the above.

You may have to adjust the lips on the mag a bit. Savages are kinda bad for that, but its an easy fix.

Tried all of the above with exception to bending the mag lips, will give that a try and see what happens ! Thanks !

feed lips are good, spring is good, narrowed it down to the front part of the mag does not seat deep enough, i can push up on the front of the mag ( catch end ) and the rounds will feed fantastic.....anyway of adjusting the depth of the mag ?

Done and done, reassembled the rifle and adjusted the front wedge on accustock and boom, works like a charm !!
