Hey guys, I asked about this rifle in my other .223 thread..but thought I'd ask directly about it here. Do any of you own this rifle, and what are your impressions of it?

I intend on getting a .223 for groundhogs and paper, maybe coyotes down the road. I tend to hike allot when hunting hogs, but am a bear-sized guy too...so not too worried about a little extra weight.

Thanks for taking a moment to respond.

Hi 22LRguy,

I have one I just got, and I love it. :) It shoots teensy-weensy groups with about everything I've put through it, and the Accutrigger is magnificent.

Any ammo it really likes? Have you tried Hornady V-Max? Thinking I'd like to try those, my .17 HMR with V-Max is awesome. I bet .223 would be something to see.

It isn't a big concern, but how do you find the report/loudness of it compared to a standard-length .223?

Hi Rob,

I have a PC only in 308, I really like the rifle, but it is on the heavy side for me personally, so I might sell it in the future. it is very accurate (.5 to .75 3 shot groups at 100) with 150gr core locs. I dont find the muzzle blast / report bad at all, i really like the 20in tube.

Mabey check out the m10 max1. I've got on and love it. It has accutrigger and accustock but with a fluted barrel.

Hey grampol, I'd be happy to carry either rifle, the Max 1 looks gorgeous too! So, a fluted barrel that's 2" longer..yet the weight is 1-1/2 pounds greater. Going to try to see as many of these as I can before I buy, would be nice to see them side by side.

Thanks everyone for the input, I'll keep watching this thread.

Cheers,
Rob

Mine is chambered in .308...so far I have tried a couple of cheap factory loads in it (one was American Eagle 150 grain) and it just puts them into little groups.

Update~I'm close to "pulling the trigger" on one of these (buying ;) ) and thought I'd bump the thread...asking if anyone hunts one of these in .223? Really like the compact size, and I think it would be a really fun groundhog gun.

Thanks
