Anybody know if this particular model of savage is available up here in the north? For some reasons i have my doubts that it's available here, havent heard anyone talk about them. I hope that I am wrong!

Here is the link for those who do not know which model im talking about:

I too would like to know more about this stock. I think Savage is making steps in the right direction finally. First adding a better detachable mag system, a good hinged floor plate, then developing a more user friendly bolt release, now maybe they will be developing their own precision stocks.

I think their stocks hold them back. Their synthetics are pathetic, and their hardwood stock leave much to be desired. I have an american classic an although the straight grain walnut is nice, the finish on it leave much to be desired also (high gloss just doesn't work for me).

I have a LRPV with the HS stock and I love it, now if Savage could do the same in house they could improve their rifles while also keeping costs down.

I think this rifle looks pretty cool minus the camo, but thats just me.

There is a good post on the Savage Shooters forum regarding a Model 16 with this specific stock. The accuracy looks like a quarter moa which is better than I could shoot. Its also a test rifle so I'm sure the assembly is top notch.
