I just purchased a new save 10TR from sfrc a few weeks ago and can't get the thing to shoot straight. Sighting it in a 25yards it shoots way low and to the right. I run out of adjustment on elevation and windage and it's still not dialed in. So far I've tried a leupold vx3, vortex viper and Nikon prostaff scopes, all give me the same results.

Any one else have this issue?

I've called SFRC and they won't do an exchange and gave me the contact info for Grech outdoors. They have at least a months turn around time. Im wondering if some Burris signature rings will get rid of the issue of should I just send it in and hope I get it back in 6months.

Thanks

There were a few that had huge problems like that. Check the main Savage 10tr thread for more.

Sucks, but better to send it away and have it fixed. It'll come back eventually.

The holes might be worth checking out. See if you can run a straightedge through the holes and up past the muzzle - see if that's the problem.

Don't waste too much time and money. There's some bad rifles like that with the 10TR production, once in a while. Unfortunately the best option is to send it to savage, or do whatever the store who selled it to you is telling you to do. In some times, they came back replaced in reasonable delay, like 2-3 months. But a folk on this forum in the 10TR thread have been waiting like one year or more...

Good luck. When the rifle get out of the factory without problems like that, they are pretty dam accurate. A lot included for the price!

do not if you have any choice send to Grech send it to the other. If it is brand new call Savage about it they should give you a number to call in Ontario for Savage Canada. They may even email you a shipping tag to send it. ask me how I know. over 3 years and I still haven't got mine fixed it is out for the 3 rd time Keeps coming back in worse shape.

I got ahold of Andrea from savage Canada today and my only options are to get an exhange from sfrc or send it to Grech. Sfrc has flat out denied an exchange saying savage Canada won't allow them anymore, savage Canada says that they can and would get a credit back from their distributer. So with no help from Ryan or Marcie I am forced to send this back. At least savage Canada will pick up the shipping tab.

Wow, this is disappointing on the part of SFRC

wow, classy sfrc. happened to me once on a msbg rifle.

Have we conclusively determined what the problem is with these 10TR's? I was one of the fortunate few to have SFRC (Marcie) replace in a very prompt fashion a 10TR that was defective (...poi way off the paper). Always like to know the reason for defects rather than just it's 'fixed' or in spec...

Once Grech was able to look at mine, it was determined that the barrel run out was beyond tolerance. So essentially it was bored off centre and due to poor QC, ended up on the market.

In my opinion Savage Canada has dropped the ball on this one.
I was one of those affected by this issue.
I sent it in to Armurier Alain Depot, the authorized Savage service center for Quebec.
It took nearly a year to get a replacement barrel, unfortunately the barrel replacement did nothing to help the accuracy of this rifle.
Here is what I did.

I just wanted end this thread with a final update.

Grech had a look at the rifle and confirmed that the reciever hole was drilled off centre and that the rifle needed to be replaced. Since these rifles are made and assembled in the USA, I would take months to get a replacement so savage Canada is issueing me a full refund.

I must say, reading the past threads I expected the rifle to be at Grech for months before they looked at it. It only took two weeks which is about average for other warranty depots. So I wouldn't hesitate using them for warranty repairs.
