Savage 10TR Huge issues!

Ok so I expressed my findings on another thread but thought I'd start another since this seems like it might turn ugly fast....

I got my 10TR out yesterday....had mounted my Nightforce scope on it since I'm still waiting for my 338edge

I bore sighted it and took a shot at 30 yards......didn't even hit the target????

Shot again with my buddy watching, he says man you're off the target by more than a foot did you bore sight this thing.....WTH?

I put the gun in bags and line the bore with the target....look up and cross hair bang on target....

Turns out it shoots 34MOA off of center bore windage and almost 60MOA off center bore elevation....Grrrrr

In 30 years of shooting Ive never had this happened.....for $hits and giggles I used different ammo went to Federal Match 168gr....

Upon closing, the bolt was stiff???? Open the bolt and cant pull it back??? Used both my hands to pull it slowly.....powder everywhere and bullet stuck....FML

A couple taps with my carbon fiber road and bullet is out.

Called Savage....told to send it to Grech outdoors for warranty work.....Grech says I have to pay shipping .....really??

My next call is to SFRC and Savage to see what they say.....TBC.....:(
 
SFRC seems a lot more caring, waiting for a call back....I'm hoping Savage just gives me a new one otherwise I'll be months waiting for warranty work
 
i read on one US forum, a guy had the same issue. it was shooting extrelely left for him. Savage dealt and fixed the problem. I bore sighted my savage 10 HS in 308 at 100 meters and i was about 4 inches up and 2 and a half left on my first shot. something is not right, especially at 30 meters
 
I hope things work out for you. Luckily for me my Remington 700 SPS in .308 functioned without issues out of the box. I had Mike at Allen Gunworks cut, thread and duracoat my barrel, action and bolt. He also removed the factory knob and threaded the handle for me. I marked my scope prior to removal for shipping, reinstalled and got it to the range, it was basically still zero'd. In your shoes, I'd be equally p.o'd.
 
If I shot mine at 100m it would be 3 feet to the left and 5 feet low....even my nightforce maxes out before that insane windage

Had my buddy bullseye at 200yards after 3 bullets yesterday with the gun I sold him....insert regrets here!

I had a very similar problem with my Savage 10FCP-SR. Got one of the first in Canada. I'll never buy a new model of rifle again. I wait for it to be out for a couple months before deciding to buy or not.
 
I've seen crown enlarge groups but throw bullets over a foot off at 30yds? I'd doubt it but you never know I guess....crown seem fine ...even took some measurements and everything seemed fine....
 
Got my replacement gun yesterday and shot it today...0.7moa twice with my old faithful load :D
It was definitely the gun....hardly any free bore....match ammo was jamming in the lands....not this one!
All is good now woohoo

My guess is a crowning issue caused by the threaded end of the barrel (my 10FCP-SR) was also threaded....
