Yup, that's a fine looking stock. Damn, A 10TR sold on EE the other day for $499. Should have jumped on it.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
Although I specified it was for a '10TR with a heavy barrel, Boyds' sent it to me with a skinny little barrel channel. It took about 3 hours for sanding the barrel channel with different sized sockets wrapped in sandpaper. After I got it right, I put a Tung oil finish on it to seal the wood. I've not yet bedded the action, but it shoots pretty decent out to 600 yds.
Those Boyds stocks are very nice!
How much do they go for to get one into Canada?
Awesome, I talked to him late last week and he said he would see where the repair depot was with it,, which we all know, so far no reply! How long did it take for your reply??Savage Canada came through, replacement rifle arrived today. Hopefully this one shoots better than the last one.

Yes, thanks to Irocudont I got a phone # and the guy actually answered the phone, he didn't seem surprised and just said he would call Grech outdoors to see where the barrel replacement stood,, well I already know that, they are still waiting for barrels, since last year!!it should have been a replacement right away, however, it has been a week since I talked to him! I have no choice but to wait and see if he calls back and with what results. A bit pi$$ed off for sure and envious of all you guys/ girls having fun with yours!,You finally got a hold of somebody! What was his reaction when you told him you'd been waiting for a year and change?
A 20" would be nice. Damn you.
Hello all
I finally got to shoot my 24" tr 10! I bought mine spring time as a gift for getting my firearms licence and reading the gunnutz gunners reviews here, made my decision a easy one to buy from SFRC at 10 or 12% off. I shot it without my lanztac muzzle break, it does need it installed. I put this old new scope on it, sighted it in with the norinco surplus ammo, from CFOutlet and shot and hit everything I aimed at. Loading and ejecting the steel case, the rifle didn't like it at first, nor my friends Winchester.
The 4 round clip sucks and have not been able to a spare mag, will be looking at doing a build on this rifle.
for the people having issues with the vendor meaning savage, call them up and f#cking tear them a new one, as I just went at it with ruger service people. Do not settle with second best, as Colt Canada from what I have seen deals with all issues when it comes to there product. So don't let the the norm be sub standard, you as consumers need to make the standard high and hold vendors accountable for there product.
As for the guy that has been waiting a year, I would be looking for some serious compesation for savage. Big time. if they don't comply, create a YouTube video of your experience, and wait to see how fast savage reacts. I bet not a year!
Gaurd
Are you feeding your 10TR 7.62?
Steel cased copper washed stuff? I thought that was 7.62?
the 10tr will fire the surplus(south African) and norc stuff with no problems imo. Its just that its a waste to use meh ammo in a precision rifle. I don't see a problem with using it to get on paper when zeroing, and then fine tuning with match stuff. Precision isn't a hobby for cheapskates,
