Looking at one and thought I'd ask for opinions. Seems like good value but I'll pass of they have a reputation for not shooting straight. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Hmm, I'll have to read it a little more thoroughly but it seems like people are fairly happy with them.

The 10TR are a pretty good rifle for the money. There were a few bad ones that slipped through the cracks and made it out to the public but I believe most people eventually had those issues taken care of. Hopefully Savage has their quality control back in line now.

Great bang for the bucks, I believe they are 1/2-1 moa gun with the right ammo, I shot of I remember correctly a 0.625 moa 3 shot group. But I need to send more rounds down range with it!

Love mine! Def 1/2-1 Moa and I am a noob bolt action guy as well as new reloaded

Good to know. I've owned probably 15 different guns, and never a bolt gun. I know when I get a bolt gun I want it in .308 and I've been toying with the idea of getting something that'll be able to reach out there rather than just a field rifle, and these seem like really good value in that they come ready to run out of the box (less optics of course)

I just picked up a 10tr in the last few weeks as well as some other goodies. Am just starting to load up some rounds for pressure testing and initial ladder testing for a "Field" cartridge (100-300m) using a 168gr HPBT. Once I get the chainsaw out and cut down about 4 dozen trees and use the excavator I should have some more room to stretch the legs out a bit with 6-800m. :D

Overall I'm very happy with the fit and finish with my 10tr, just can't wait to shoot it now!

Tupperware stock
Chitty trigger
No readily available 10 round mags
Not AICS mag compatible
horrible bolt slop

Mine was very accurate but I couldn't live with paying 100$ for savage 10 round mags, so I sent it down the road.

I did away with the stock too, but I think your pushing it. If you compare apples to apples the 10tr is awsome! The trigger is good to. Bottom bolt release sucks and is stupid but to me it's not a critical issue. And if I am being honest the bolt nob is a bit big for my taste, but comme on don't go and compare it to AI, Cadex Sako, Barretts or custom rifles. Compare it to it's competition the rem 700 and the likes.

The trigger was the worst POS i have ever used. It would lock up for no reason.... I had to replace it with a Rifle Basix.

Oh yes forgot about that bottom bolt release one more reason I got rid of it....lol

Every accutrigger I have used would lock up. Hate that stupid blade trigger and won't buy a gun with it on there. All of your other points are very valid but they do manage to shoot pretty well.

Dropped into a Cadex, Pure Awesome
Trigger, once adjusted I like. But ya gotta get used to that first stage safety
Mags, see Cadex chassis now uses AICS mags
Bolt, while not tight mine is not sloppy, next step will be a different bolt sleeve and handle and I'll be laughing

It's not a perfect rifle but mine outshoots my buddies RPR, and keeps up with my buddies Rem 700's and for that I love it.

Yes I give credit where its due. But my 350$ ruger american shoot the same...lol... And the trigger doesn't lock up.... hahahhahaa

I just sold it and got a CDX-30 lol... Even better... hehehehehhe

I love mine, its great for the money. But the trigger stinks, and the first thing I noticed that I disliked was the bolt slop. Otherwise I love it. I purchased it to learn long distance shooting without spending a fortune. In comparison to my TRG 42 its a garbage gun, but they are both a different class of rifle. The accutrigger will sometimes decock itself depending how you pull the trigger. There are videos on youtube of this. I have somewhere around 1000 rounds through mine and can hold 1/2 MOA when/if I do my part, and the wind isn't too crazy.

Marlin accutrigger also doesn't lock up.

That is a heck of an upgrade. From wolverine?

Your Ruger American will reach out to 1000 yards with consistency?
