Many times! The 7.62 NATO isn't even that hot a load. If shot many headstamps of 7.62 NATO thru Savage rifles.

I bought the wife the savage trophy xp in 7-08 last year for her birthday, had to switch out the scope at wss after 20rds because it was all over the place. The savage is a great bang for the buck rifle and you'll be happy with it just make sure to upgrade base and rings and the scope is decent enough for a bush gun. The accu trigger is defiantly worth bragging about, probably my favourite stock trigger. The stock leaves a lot to be desired but Boyd's replacements are only a little north of a $100 delivered to your door. Might end up selling or trading hers, boots a little more than she likes and all she shoots is island deer so I'm on the scout for smaller caliber for her, something between 22-250 and 243.

I just got one recently from a site sponsor (lefty 7-08). It shoots about 1.5 inches with the handloads I had available, and I plan on tailoring a load specific to it. The scope is decent enough, but I have brighter. I will replace it down the road.
