I had to turn the outside diameter to fit under the rail which was extra, done by a local machinists.
McGowen might be able to do all the work for you for a nominal contouring upcharge?
Depending on how you modify the stock you can have the grip and stock to use AR parts. I thought about using one of those adaptors for a SG or VZ or some other rifle but when I got into it, I just changed the shape of the stock and added that grip.
Just saved a bit more fitting and I don't like wobbly buttstocks typical of AR rifles on a precision rifle.
I think folding stock like you see on an AI or other quality stocks would be a viable option too.
If you start with a stock blank, it is easier to adapt the different parts. Using the factory stock does limit you but it worked out OK.

No, just expensive.
Most custom barrel makers charge extra for barrels over 28" or so. Depends.
