Savage 11 scope rail musings...

Yesterday I discovered that a weaver multi slot scope rail for a Savage 111 (long action) will not fit the Savage 11 (short action). :(

So now should I return the base to the store or keep it and buy a 111 later to go with it? ;) :p

Also the weaver website isn't helping me much.
Has anyone seen or heard of them offering a multi slot scope rail for the 11?
 
are you talking about a picatinny rail? If you are then I have one sitting here not being used. PM me if your interested
 
I have a multi slot rail for the Savage Axis. If you can find out from Savage if the screw spacing is the same it would likely for the 11 action.

IIRC it's a different screw spacing again as apparent all Axis are long actions regardless of cartridge types. I guess they save money only having to build one receiver length.
