Do you guys know if this model is regular shank or large shank?
The 110s look beefier and most have got a smaller ejection port.

Was thinking of acquiring one of these, and wondering if my regular shank spare barrels are going to fit.

I could not find any info on that. It definately looks like the large shank barrel nut. Hopefully someone can confirm what size it is.

From what I read it is quite a rifle out of the box, shank size should not be an issue right away until ready to rebarrel.

Yes I have also just read a bit on it and decided to purchase it,
Can't wait to see if Savage got did extraction/ejection right on this one, if not I'll just tune it like all my other Savages.
Always wanted an upgrade Savage action and also wanted to try out the MDT ACC, it was a perfect match for me!

If it is large shank, I'll just burn the factory .308 barrel before switching it over.

I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on these new 110 Elites. I'm tempted to get one entirely out of curiosity. I've never really handled a centre fire Savage (had a MkII at one point) and I'm curious how it would compare to my R700s, Defiance and ARC Nucleus. I'd get the 300 PRC or Norma if/when they ever come out or the .338 as a cheap long range plinker (1500 yards+). I've read/heard so many horror stories about Savage extraction and ejection though so I'm leery. I also watched the team ahead of us one year at a team field match who were running Savages as they had to manually pull the spent cases out of each others chambers every stage...

We’ll see,
I will give you a good honest review.
My benchmarks I have previously worked with are Savage 10 H-S precision, Rem 700, Ultimatum Deadline, and Bighorn Origin.
My Origin build is my favourite by far.

But had a spare razor gen ll 4-27x56 and spare ARC M10 rings sitting there doing nothing.
And for 1900$ at Tenda, it was cheap to go see what the MDT ACC and new savage action are about.

I've had an Elite Precision in .308 for almost a month now . There are zero feeding , extraction or ejection issues . Works perfectly . The MDT ACC chassis is great , however every single screw needs to be tightened with a thread locking compound or they will back out and fall out right away . I am still working on a load but its been shooting about 1/2 MOA at 100 yards . I've shot it out to 710 yards at a 7" x 9" plate , prone off a bipod and it was super easy . 10 out of 10 in a 5 mph full value crosswind . I think the rifle has potential to be really good . The coatings make the bolt a little gritty out of the box but it , and the trigger , smooth out very quickly .

Just posted in appropriate thread, I had mixed both Elite precision threads!

Was purchased at Tenda a week and a half ago, at 1900$ something it's an awesome price.
Just the ACC is a 1000$ purchase, and I would gladly pay 900$ for that barreled action.
Received it and unpacked it, right off the start...

#Comes with a nice MDT 10 round metal mag, no binder plate, and action clears for full length ammo, very cool. My other Savages would not do that, only my Ultimatum and Bighorn actions cleared.

#Action screws we're properly torqued, action underside did not have oil, had to check for form anyways.

#Recoil lug is fat and pinned for index. Barrel nut is slotted. They made the future barrel change too easy for us!

#Factory accutrigger wouldn't go lighter than 2lbs even though they advertise 1.5lbs. They should of put the red accutrigger on this one and let her go light! So my rifle basix trigger went in...

#Action looks beefy for a short action, I don't know how to tell yet but am starting to think this is a large shank barrel. Is there a way to confirm this via barrel nut exterior dia?

#Scope rail was very loose and filled with oil between rail and rifle, WTF Savage! Most competitors know to check this, but I also believe this rifle is marketed to the new guy to PRS. If the poor guy doesn't think twice to check this he will be chasing his tail trying to find a wandering zero. Scope rail also had an odd screw. 3 are T10 and 1 is T15 bit size. All 4 screws are #8-40.

#After market Savage SA scope rail do not fit! Screw holes are larger in this 110 action, so my ATRS steel rail is benched for the moment. I guess I'll try to put some trust in the EGW 20 moa aluminium rail, didn't read on it but hope it's at least 7075. ATRS had #6 screws.

#Compared to an MDT purchased Savage SA ACC, you don't have the lower bolt release slot and have a few Savage engravings, I like it!

That's it for now, as soon as I receive my new ARC M10 lower scope rings (sold higher ones as I don't have an ESS handguard to clear anymore) I'll go zero and see what kind of accuracy I can get!

Mailman was supposed to be here at 10:00am (his usual hour) but still ain’t here with my rings.
Everything for range outing is packed or ready for install of my rings, at this hour I got a feeling it will be postponed dammit!

Loaded some ammo for initial mini-break in (I do it in 15 rounds) and measured lands before doing so.
Measured lands using Ogive but will give avg COAL for easy reference.

Savage 110 elite touching lands @ 2.840’’ w/175SMK
Which makes for 2.820’’ loaded ammo, not bad at all.

In comparison my IBI barrel was touching lands @ 2.820’’ with 175s making 2.800’’ ammo.

Rifle sitting on the bench waiting for rings...

Edit : Received rings and Harris arca adapter a little too late for testing today.
First thing tomorrow morning I’m hitting the range with a preliminary accuracy report afterwards.
As tomorrow I’ll only test 175 GMM, 42.7gn Varget + 175 SMK, and 43.0gn varget + 175 SMK

Back from the range, here is my 1st range report on this rifle...

Muzzle brake, not very efficient. I always owned Insite Heathens on my other rifles, way better than Savage's factory offering, will likely change sooner than later.
Waiting to see if I change barrels before buying the brake.

Accuracy, this rifle does not shoot well with my GOTO load. Tried 42.7gn and 43.0gn of Varget, barely sub-moa at 200M, tried Federal GMM loaded ammo, barely sub-moa at 200M.
All with 175s SMK.
Will give it a good clean and a fresh load dev from 42.7gn up in the mid-44s see what's going on here.

Speed, my barrel is definitely slower than my IBI barrels. Compared to the 26'' and 24'' I have owned, it's a good 50-60fps slower than my 26'' and going at the same speed as my 24''.
Once again we'll see if higher node corrects this.

Feeding/extraction, man am I impressed. This is my 4th Savage, and the only one I haven't tuned yet, and is the one to fling brass the furthest!
Either I got a one of a kind, or either Savage did something different with this one!
Bolt definitely doesn't cycle smooth, feels sticky, even in dry fire, we'll see how it behaves 100-200 rounds later.
While bringing back the bolt, you hear/feel the case neck hitting the actions interior after leaving the chamber, just waiting to be flung out, seriously, I'm impressed with that one.

Weight, the rifle could use some more weight it's on the light side (for this type of rifle), weights in at 14lbs with the razor gen 2 installed. Unbalanced and wants to dip at the rear.
Good thing the MDT ACC allows for fine weight tuning, can't wait to get into that.
I'll start by seeing if I can get along with that barrel, because if I should order let's say an IBI MTU profile, it will shift weight forward considerably.

That's it for now, more testing required.
Down the road I'm probably looking forward to either or both MDT weight kit and IBI MTU barrel.

I've found the action on my rifle got significantly smoother with use . It's almost like the coatings had to "wear in" a bit . Trigger is MUCH better as well . Out of the box it was quite gritty .

Part number links it to EGW site.
It’s their HD 7075 rail.

Edit, here was rail before install.

As far as I'm aware, Savage has EGW make rails for their rifles.

On the 10T-SR, the 20MOA rail that comes factory installed is listed by Savage as an "EGW Scope Mount" - with a Savage part number of 112650.
