This rifle is really nice. Aside from Cabelas whos selling this at a lower price point? This guy unboxed this in canada. Is this a good buy?

The action I feel is a bit rough because of the fancy milling work but it should break in with time. Even the Fierce rifles with their fancy milling on the bolts feels very rough. Some of the lighting cuts makes the gun look a bit cheap but over all the gun looks good, and shoots very well. If you could get a replacement stock for it that looks like the fancy Gunwerks stocks, the gun would be like a poor mans Gunwerks. For the price, I think it’s a good buy.

I handled one at basspro https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/2029656-New-SIG-CROSS-Precision-hunting-bolt-action-rifles-Pre-Order-Now!!!?p=17152390&viewfull=1#post17152390. I'm sure it's nice and groups really good, i just thought that the stock would have been better and the action not as dry/gritty/noisy

Savage's website describes the new whizbang carbon-fibre Ultralite model as "6 pounds and under". The Storm Lightweight is 5.6 pounds. And my model 16 Lightweight Hunter is 5.2 pounds on my scale.

It was available within the last year, brand new, for just over $600, as opposed to the Ultralite at around $1700-$1800.

Now, admittedly, my Lightweight Hunter is not the most attractive rifle in the safe. But...have you seen the newer Savages? Yeeeesh...cp:

Have been waiting on mine since January... was supposed to have it prior to bear season... and now that’ll be long gone before I ever see it... first and last time I ever pre order a firearm.
