Just wondering if it is possible to change from a side mag release to a bottom release in order to use a boyds stock and where would one get the parts from to do so ?

easier job to take the blind inlet Boyd stock and do some inletting, drilling and cutting to make it fit your side release rifle. Its a bit of a pain but certainly it is doable.

I thought of this but thought it might be easier to just switch mags and hardware if available

nope, I don't even think the receiver cut out is the same, might be similar, easier to modify the wood than the action without a lot of work, unless possibly you can go to a PTG or other type of tactical bottom metal for your set up

Buy a new rifle.. WAY cheaper in the long run.

No the side mag release is no where close to being compatible with new factory bottom mag release stuff.

however, CDI DBM is made for older actions so you can inlet into a blind mag stock and use AI mags.
