I posted this on the official Savage FB page a week ago, but of course haven't gotten a response yet.

Hopefully somebody at Savage can help me with this.

I ordered a Savage 111LRH in .300win back in May from my local dealer in Sudbury, Ontario. They initially told me 2-3 weeks delivery, but every time I check in with them to get a better date, I get the standard: "Not yet, could be tomorrow, could be sometime in 2012." Obviously fall is coming quick and I'd like to know if it's worth waiting for, or if I should look for something else to hunt with this fall. I'm a huge Savage fan, so I'm glad business is brisk.. but I'd hate to be throwing rocks at a Bull Moose come thanksgiving.

Anyone know a phone number at Savage I can call to get a better idea? Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't been able to find another one in Ontario. Epps just got one in .25-06, I called to see if they expected any more and he told me not before January-ish.. My dealer is a good dude, I don't believe he is jerking me around. He said his rep's name is Chris and he was waiting on word from him. Obviously I'd like to buy from this guy, but I don't have any money on it. So if I found one sitting on a shelf somewhere I'd consider it.

Savage doesn't seem to have pertinent contact information, sepecially not in Canada. Should I call Lakefield?

Any thoughts?
Thanks guys!

I ordered one from Wholesale sports back in February (2011) and I received a call about a week and a half ago from them wondering if I still wanted it because they had them in now, so that's , feb, mar, apr, may, june, july, and part of aug so about six and a half months and they finally had them in, luckily I found one at Cabelas at the same time that I ordered it from Wholesale.

So good luck, but in the meantime these guns are very hard to get, I was told the same thing by Wholesale sports and Cabelas, as soon as they come in they're sold (very popular rifles). Why not give Savage Arms a call and ask them when they'll be making the next shipment to Canada (your area) the phone number is on their site, you never know they may be able to tell you something, it's better then asking the dealer by the sounds of it, they always seem to be getting the order next week and yours should be in there, I've heard that so many times it's funny.

"...Should I call Lakefield?..." Whatever for? Lakefield makes .22's.
In any case, calling Savage won't make any difference. Canadian dealers are at the mercy of their distributors. Epp's is a dealer, not the distributor.

I just figured since they're the Canadian arm of Savage they might know something...

Maybe these guys would know. lol
www.belldistributors.com/

The only numbers listed on the website are these:

(413) 642-4260 for Historical Information

(413) 642-4261 for Instruction Manuals

(413) 642-4262 for Catalogs

(413) 568-7001 for parts and service (please have your serial number and credit card available)

(413) 568-7001 ext 4399 for Special Orders

...None of which seem related to what I need. I was hoping that someone here may have gone through the same situation with them before and might have a backdoor number.

Why don't you try one of those numbers and see if theres an operator option? Probably try the service one.

JB101 - Call Lakefield!

Although the Lakefield plant only makes all of the Savage rimfires there, ALL of the centerfire rifles for Canadian distribution are imported from the US and are warehoused at the Lakefield plant!

Call the main number - 705-652-8000 and ask to speak with Ernie, he is the Canadian Savage Sales Manager!

Failing that, ask to speak with the plant manager, Terry, to discuss your issue.

Generally Savage will do anything they can to help out a potential buyer.

Thank you! That was my suspicion...
I'll call first thing tomorrow morning, if that doesn't work I'll call Savage direct as others have suggested. I'll let you guys know what I find out!

Just an update:

I called Ernie and left a message, he returned my call within 10 minutes. I told him my story and that I was hoping he could help shed light on the situation. He was quite friendly and nice to talk to... he dug through a few papers and told me my gun had been shipped to Bowmac a few days prior and that it should be in my hands in less than a week. Overall I was quite impressed! I've called the higher-ups before at different places and usually get the impression they're annoyed that you've found their contact info. None of that here, stand up guy!

Great to hear JB101!

I have met Ernie a few times at gun shows, and I figured out of anyone within Savage Canada, he would be able to help you out anyway he was able to.

Hope you enjoy your new Savage. Oh, I own three of them now, and will probably add a couple more!!
