Savage 114

I have a 16 that I love and just happens to be the most accurate rifle I own. My neighbour has a 114 and his shoots equally as well. Gun nutz is full of Savage haters but I find accurate rifles to be the most intriguing and Savage fits the bill. Economical to.

Never had a 114 but thought about it more than a few times.

I have had several Savages over the years and they were all very accurate so that's not the issue.

For me they just always felt like a budget gun, and I wasn't willing to spend that kinda money on one just cuz it has a nicer stock.

I actually just went through the hunt for a new .270 win, and found Tikka and Browning build a better gun for not much more money, and I'll take their synthetic stocks over wood anyways.

There is a Tikka on the EE in 270 win right now I believe. Might be synthetic though if you have your heart set on wood.

Not to sure Tikka is built better then a Savage at all

Had a savage 114 and have a tikka t3 and the 114 is alot better built. Only traded because I switched all my guns to left hand. 114 is built alot better than a tikka. Would buy a left handed 114 or 116 in a heart beat. Both are nice guns. 114 trust me is a nice gun would go with the 116 as I prefer the accustock to wood.

I also have a Savage 14 in 243.
The wood has some decent figure, the rifle seems solid, and it shoots very well indeed, for a factory rifle.
Eagleye.
