i was at the range yesterday and saw one of these guns in .308. The owner was telling us of his situation. It is a great gun but even with the heavy barrel and big bore, i was more than matching him in shots (bulls and v-bulls ) at 3oo and a 1000 yards. I shoot a savage 12fvss in .223 with 62 gram production cartridges. Other than a more stable bullet in the wind, I seen little advantage in the heavier bore. The fanciness of the stock has no advantage but to each thier own. Why take the shoulder pounding if you do not have to. I shot a 6.5 before and was pleased for a few years until I found the .223. I will be swithching to a choate stock so I have a little more control and comfort while I shoot...the short action .223 barrel etc. will switch stocks readily.
