Hey guys,
need a little help here. i picked a brandnew model 12FV today from P&D. I went home clean the gun out attached my scope and went to the range for breakin/sighting. i load the first shot in and close up the bolt. aim and pull the trigger and nothing "click", failure to fire. I pull the bolt back and look at the primer and theres no indent. i then break the club rules and let out a string of swear words. i'm using hornady ammo i bought at the store so its not an ammo prob. i'm wondering if anyone has had the same thing happen or if i'm completely stupid. and doesn't savage test fire there guns before selling?

i called P&D and i'm going to be taking it in next week (i'm out of town). but till then is there something i'm doing wrong here?

should the savage logo be straight up or should it appear more to the side?

does the bolt look like its not sitting all the way down? this is as far down as it goes.

The front screw on the scope base is too long. Didn't I tell you to shorten them?
I should have explained it better. The screw is protruding into the bolt lug recess and not allowing the bolt to close into battery. Take it out and shorten it about 3 threads then try it.

This is why we charge to mount scopes, it's the tricks!

THATS THE PROBLEM! i had some shorter screws from another weaver mount that fit perfectly. THANKS!

PS, anyone who complains about P&D can shove there complaints up there ass! Thanks Scott.
