Any idea what can be done with a savage 1899 22h.p. With a shot out barrel.

You could have it bored out to .25-35. Or have it re-lined and back to .22 HP or .219 Zipper.

Are you positive it is shot out? The .22 HP requires a .228 diameter bullet for best performance.
If it is shot out I would look at Goldenlakepete's suggestion, and add .30-30, and the various chamberings based off the same case, ie 7-30 waters, .32 special and possibly .38-55 as well as .35-30 if they will cycle.

Unless you have plenty of 22hp ammunition/components laying around waiting to be used, going to 30-30 would be more <practical>

Why not 250-3000? Seems those are in demand and there are no shortage of 30-30 levers out there

to go to 250-3000, you'd probably need to alter the bolt-face/feeding mechanism.

The 22hp is (kind of) a 30-30 derivative.
