I have hunting access to a zone which allows shotgun for elk and deer. Has anyone here hunted or shot one of these? If so how do they stack up? Also where did you buy it? I'm getting blank stares wherever I go here. TIA!

I haven't used one but they're pretty popular in places where you can slug hunt but not rifle hunt.

I've seen pics on here of a guy dropping a moose at 200+yds with a 220, so they can be plenty accurate enough. I hear they are picky when it comes to ammo though, you might have to try a few brands before you find one that works well in your gun.

Either a 12 or 20 will shoot as well as a centre fire out to 200yards or more if you are up to it. The 12 will have more recoil mind you, but both are more than capable. Epps has a few listed now on the website.

Ive shot a couple. Very accurate with certain sabots. Id buy one if i hunted a shotgun deer zone but im in a muzzle loader only area
Id like to try some full bore slugs thru one

Like brybenn said, I also hunt a muzzle loader only season, so no use for a slug gun right now. I had an older Savage 210 in 12ga with a Macmillan stock a while back and it had a liking for the Remington Backhammers which were a full bore/ sabot design. It was never a problem getting three shots to touch at 100yds, but the recoil would soon take over so prolonged range sessions with it were not the norm . It was kinda neat not needing a spotting scope to see your hits at 100 and the sound of them cutting paper was cool as well.

I like me Savage 212, though it could use a Boyd's laminate unit to lose the "Mattel" look & feel. These buggers shoot tight with a variety of slug and sabot loads
and are very entertaining fer alder thinning.:d These 12 bores be rather rough lookin' on the insides, but they do the job well.

My buddy has the 220 in stainless. I originally thought that he was crazy and called it a gangrene gun.
I was wrong.
Being a LH shooter I bought the blued 220 from Tillsonburg Gun Shop. I hate the recoil of a 12 ga.
I used it hunting this fall but my tag is still in my vest.

My 212 came in the mail today looking forward to trying it out. P&D from Edmonton supplied the beast, I always like dealing with them, great company.
