I have a Savage 220 and really like it. Great option for shotgun hunts. Its the older version with a black plastic stock. I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the cheapo stock. I have thought about selling it and upgrading to the new version but there is a lot of hassle with that option and I don't know how much better the new stocks are. Haven't had a change to handle one.
I was just playing on the Boyds website and looking at grey laminate, classic profile, with with engraved checkering (ribbon pattern). Has anyone seen or tried a boyds stock for a 220. I am worried about weight and if it would be a good upgrade as they are pretty pricy.
The performance of the shotgun is adequate, I'm more looking to improve the overall quality, feel and look.
I would also be interested in other recommendations and of course pics if you have them. Someone is going to recommend a McMillan, and I'm going to say right now I'm not ordering a stock that's $1000US so they are out.
Thoughts?
